Australians suffer the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. Each year around 1,200 Australians die from this almost totally preventable disease.

Preventative measures and early detection are critical to reduce the number of people affected by skin cancer and Health at Work can support your company with both. Our awareness and education programs promote prevention, and skin check services enable detection.

Key skin-check details:

  • Full body screening and/or areas requested at the discretion of the employee, conducted in a private room onsite
  • Expertly performed by a Dermatscopist Skin Specialist Nurse using a Derma-Scope. The Derma Scope allows for a clear and deep view into pigmented lesions enabling skin irregularities to be identified and ultimately to the early detection of melanoma.
  • Employees receive results immediately – personalised online report with skin mapping for annual comparison
  • Referral to seek further medical advice for any abnormalities identified (Basal Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma or Melanoma- the most dangerous form of skin cancer)

Everyone can develop skin-cancer; however, some people may be at higher risk due to a range of factors. Prior to their appointment, employees are asked to complete a short questionnaire to ascertain their risk level. Following their appointment, employees can immediately access online:

  • Results - a personal skin check assessment booklet that they can download and print
  • Medical referral (if applicable)
  • Skin mapping history- skin lesions/mole images are saved and available for year-on-year comparisons
  • Sun and skin educational resource portal that includes information flyers, educational video and links to important websites for more information.
